The Darkest Minds is an incredible Sci-Fi Thriller based on a novel series by Alexandra Bracken.
The story is set in a dark future where a mysterious and lethal disease wipes out 98% of the earth's children and the surviving 2% evolve. These survivors develop one of five powerful abilities.
Instead of helping or supporting these innocent children and instead of valuing these survivors as the precious gifts that they are, the generation before them become threatened. They are driven by fear. The children then must endure a life of slavery. Otherwise, they are murdered.
It is a bleak and hopeless world for everyone. Adults lose their children. Children lose their lives or their freedom. The human race loses future generations. What will befall the future of humanity?
The Darkest Minds
explore the personal journey of four of these survivors. They travel the world in search of a purpose and a place to belong. They want a peaceful living. They fight for their right to live. They long for love.
Because no one else looks out for them, they must look out for themselves. They form a sense of community. They become family. They sustain, protect, and love each other. Together these four find that belonging and love.
The children are the future. They inherit the world from the generations before them. What we create, they suffer the consequences. We need to consider what kind of world we leave behind for our children. What example do we set? What do we teach them?
