Hotel Artemis is the story about an underground hospital that provides top of the line health care for wealthy criminals in a time where people need healthcare more than ever. As the world crumbles around them, the masses fight for the simplest of resources. Law enforcement struggles daily to keep control, while criminals thrive. In such a world the Hotel Artemis serves not only as a hospital but also as a safe haven for its members.
While most relish in the peace and care the Artemis provides, it serves as an occupational prison for someone else. The Nurse is so consumed in her work that she must live on site in order to answer every beck and call that her many patients make. Her job patching up criminals is everything for which she lives. Her early life is plagued with incredible loss. After her son's murder, she turns to alcohol and loses her nursing license. She doesn't practice medicine in a legitimate hospital, because she is no longer qualified. Instead, she hides away in a tower giving care to those who any other hospital would deny or report to authorities.
Her patients are fellow rejects to her. As long as they pay the membership and follow her rules, she cares for them without judgment or hesitation. She treats everyone as an equal. A bank robber or shady weapons dealer is no better or worse than L.A.'s most powerful crime boss. She operates on a first come, first serve basis. She has a no tolerance policy for those who break the rules.
Except in regards to her son.
Her compassion overcomes her rules and her crippling fears. A dear friend of her departed son appears on her doorstep while injured. This friend grows up to be a cop and strives to live an honest life. She is an enemy to every other patient in the hotel. It is a risk she takes for the love of her son.
The Nurse is a compassionate person despite her demons. She suffers from alcoholism and crippling anxiety. Fortunately, she possesses skills that help people either criminal or cop. She turns the worst experience of her life into an empire that helps people.
The Hotel Artemis is a beacon of hope for the world. People turn to the Nurse for help in their most desperate hours. She saves lives. Much like the Nurse, Christ is a doctor for lost souls. He gives love, compassion, and healing to the lost. Christ saves everyone who comes to Him. Let Christ save and heal your life.
