Netflix brings an amazing book series to life with its first season of "THE WITCHER". The eight, hour-long episodes are filled will fantasy, magic, and hardship. The timeline of the episodes is so complex that it will take several views to understand it.
Geralt of Rivia is a genetically engineered mercenary. Though he is powerful, he struggles to find a place in the world thanks to discrimination. Seven kingdoms filled with people, and a lonely number of four make an effort to understand him. The rest of them are happy to take advantage of his talents, after which they mock him, underpay him, and throw him to the wind.
This is his miserable existence until he finds three people who share his hardship and understand him. These people would eventually become his partner, friends, and family. Despite his objections.
Geralt meets Jaskier when they are attacked on the road, and he saves both of them. To thank him for his heroism, Jaskier writes a song detailing his heroism. This helps to diminish the discrimination against the witcher and persuade the people to appreciate him. "Toss A Coin" helps Geralt find more employment and eases his hardship for the extent of their partnership.
"People bound by destiny will find each other."
Meanwhile, Geralt is held back by an absolute tyrant.
Twice, Calanthe proves herself incapable of understanding and empathy. Every decision she makes is out of fear for her welfare. Not even the power of destiny can tame her. She is a woman so arrogant that she thinks she can fight destiny. The harder she fights, the more ruin she brings upon herself and her kingdom. She is a tyrant: selfish and controlling.
Netflix will premiere season 2 on an undetermined day in 2021.
At that time, the journey will continue. Geralt must acclimate himself to his new role as a guardian. Ciri needs training, so she can hone her new power. Perhaps, Yennifer, assuming she survived her kamikaze attack on the invading army.
What a strange, little family they will make. At least, they will no longer be alone.
