At the time of Cassandra's death, she shows signs of independence. The two girls begin journeys down separate paths. Clara continues to let bitterness and anger drive her while Cassandra desires the opportunity to move on. She wants the normal life of a teen, happiness, fun, and boys. However, Clara resists her sister's efforts. She can't handle the idea of Cassandra growing up. So, death preserves her in an eternal state of innocence and beauty.
She finds herself utterly alone. Guilt plagues her. Visions of the dead appear to her at every turn. They call her to join them. It forces her to face the mortality of herself and her sister.
Will she succumb to the call? Or will she find a way to free herself from the darkness? Can she forgive her father for leaving his family to suffer? Was the accident a cry for help or a cry for attention? Who can say what goes through her mind in any given moment?
