It is the ultimate wish of every struggling adult. Life isn't kind. Something (or everything) dear to you has been stripped away, leaving you with a hole in your heart. With every passing day, it gets harder to drag yourself out of bed. Out of nowhere, the offer of a lifetime presents itself: a clean slate and ultimate freedom.
The seven mercenaries in "6 Underground" take the deal. A singular cause unites them: end a dictator's tyranny and replace him with the dictator's underdog brother. Justice drives them to do whatever it takes to help the downtrodden and oppressed. To accomplish their goals, they all fake their deaths to smooth out their operation. None of the world's authorities can arrest or assassinate a dead person. They are free from the restrictions of politics.
Isaiah 10:1-2 - "What sorrow awaits the unjust judges and those who issue unfair laws. They deprive the poor of justice and deny the rights of the needy among my people. They prey on widows and take advantage of orphans."
At what cost? They are utterly alone. No connections. No relationships. Their loved ones must believe they gone forever. It sounds like a difficult catch, but it frees you to save countless lives. It's for the greater good.
They save a country from tyranny, and they don't claim any credit. Enough innocent people die under the watch of a broken system. They only desire justice for those lost lives. They give the people a voice and a leader who values life. Just as they value life. Above their own.
All things considered, that's a pretty good deal.
Would you take the offer?
Would you die for strangers?
