Were you a kid in the 90s? Did you love your cartoons? Did you refuse to go a single night without tuning into Nickelodeon and Disney?
Rugrats. All That. CatDog. Kenan and Kel. Hey Arnold! , etc...
Who can forget Hey Arnold! ? The kind-hearted nine-year old boy with his unusual family, many friends, a love-sick stalker, and words of wisdom for any impossible situation. Even more memorable was the show's unjust cancellation before the story's pivotal conclusion.
An interview with the wonderful Craig Bartlett all about Hey Arnold! Craig talks about the creation of Arnold, working with Jim Lang, the art of the show, Arnold & Helga...
The Jungle Movie was meant to serve as the answer to Hey Arnold's biggest mystery. What happened to Arnold's parents? Did they survive their adventure? Would he even see them again? Will Arnold and Helga confess their feelings for each other?
In the Jungle Movie , Arnold would be granted the opportunity to travel to their last know location where he would find answers to the questions that haunt him.
Sadly, the project never saw the light of day. because the first film, Hey Arnold!: The Movie made so little money in the box office. The show concluded prematurely in 2002.
In the final episode, The Journal , Arnold discovers a journal detailing his parents' story leading up to their disappearance and a map leading to their location... And there it ended.
However, 90's kids (like me) remained hopeful that we would see the Jungle Movie become reality. Several petitions and fifteen years later, our wish has been granted. The Jungle Movie is set to premiere on November 24 on Nickelodeon.
Join me for the long-awaited Final Chapter to this beloved children's show.
